Pony rides included in the package but will be weather permitting and risk assessment pending on the day

This is a great opportunity to see how caring for the farm animals and our ponies works whilst also getting stuck into the job...

Farm management:

Learn how to care for your pony and animals on the day

Muck out the stables and Pens

Poo pick from pens and fields

Fill water buckets and bowls

Fill hay nets

Grooming

Learning about what brushes we use and why

Groom the horses making them clean and presentable

Brush the goats

Outdoor learning and Educational - learn all about the animals on the farm

Reflection time - what have we learnt, what have we enjoyed

Children must be age 6 plus to engage in the camp due to the closeness and physicality of caring for ponies and animals

 

Bring your own appropriate clothing and footwear – wellies/ boots / coats / hats / suncream for example

 

Bring your own own drinks and a packed lunch as we will be having breaks

 

How the day will be set out :

*Parents drop off children for 10am for a prompt start

*Welcome talk - safety rules and introductions

*Meet and greet the animals in the top barn

*Meet and greet the animals in the middle barn

*Meet and greet the animals on the field

*11am Break

*Get stuck in ... Farm management as a Team

*Clean stalls, poo picking from field

*Groom the animals

*Feed the animals

*Play with the animals on the field

*Pony rides (pending risk assessment)

*Reflection Time

*12:15-12:30 Break

*12:30 End of Camp and Goodbyes

We want all children and young people who come through our little farm gates to have the chance to be able to look back on their childhood with magical memories of playing outdoors, getting muddy, petting animals, learning all about them, getting stuck in to farm chores, working as a team.
